Quite a bit of info on the dash kits.

Whatrecommendations are there for websites that offer brushed aluminum kits that can be applied after removing the wood pieces like jazejeff did??? Don't like the kits that are applied on top of the existing pieces.

Do a search on this forum as I think that the GM P/Ns are listed in a thread on this topic.

I'm a little hesitant to pry off the factory covering of the headlight wheel, fog lamp toggle, and 4wd selector. For those who have removed this and replaced it with a wood one, does this pop off easily? Is there a risk of damaging the plasitc if I use a screw driver?

P.S. Sorry to hijack the post with this...but seemed like a knowledgable group in here

I found this guy on the Hummer posts. My hubby actually ordered an aluminumset for his Silverado LTZ to replace the wood pieces.

His name is Stuart and he got high reviews from the Hummer forum:

"My pieces are the factory original dash. “NOT STICK ON”. Please call me.

Stuart is who I bought my dash pieces from and my experience wasn't good. First I waited a month before I called...didn't want to appear impatient. Then he said he shipped them to teh wrong address and that he'd sort it out....which took a few more weeks. Then I called again nearly 2 months later he was able to get me the center console arm piece, but said the wood for the light and 4x switch would take another while...so finally about 3 1/2 months later I got everything. My experience was that he was highly unorganized... next time I'd buy direct from teh company he bought from...they had a Canadian label.

The color is slightly darker than the stock. My wife says it doesn't bother her...but it drives me nuts! Other than that they came very well packed and are without blemishes. Functionality is also good.

Gixxer,
We had a bad experience with Stuart as well. The pieceswere re-manufactured originalparts. We were told we'd be gettingOEM brushed aluminum pieces and instead we received pieces that had been painted (or color applied by some unknown process) and clear coated.

Also, rear door pieces were wrong.
