So what about those car dusters? Should I NOT use one on a black or dark vehicle?

I've used one on mine since new. I only use it when it's got a good coat of wax and hasn't been rained on. Does it scratch the paint? Ads say no but it probably does in a minor way. I always go in a straight line, front to back same as when waxing and polishing. Helps minimize swirl marks.

Great Idea! Front to backall the waxes etc say circular motion except for the Turtle Wax Ice Clay bar-it says back and forth. Hmmmm... i musttry this! It makes complete sense. Thank you!

I have had good luck with using a leaf blower to removed as much water as possible after washing to prevent having to use a towel to dry. I do use a sythetic shami to follow up with, I have also had good results with the california waterblade esp on glass.
The leaf blower really does well for getting water out of the grill area and other tight areas, does a good job on the wheels and tires too! I do get chuckles from my negibors when Im 'blow drying' my truck but then I also get the oohhs and ahhs of how nice it looks

ya know in2pro, a leaf blower would save lots of time, especially in the winter. My luck I'd bust my butt while on the3rd step of my stool trying to blow the roof dry !

hey mary, that really was an issue I had, I use an electric B&D leaf blower and you do have to becareful when standing on a stool as you'd be surprised how much force that air has when your holding it shoulder high. I have gone to just holding it above my head and doing a blind back and forthmotion over the top of the truck from both sides from front to back and its getting all the water off. Its also great for getting the water out of the roofrack rails so I dont get those water trails running down the back glass when I drive after washing it. Also works well at getting the vent area under the wipers.

EDIT
she's about to come up on my first year of ownership and I will put her up on jack stands and power wash the underside, its also a good time to check wire bundles and various other undercarrige componets for any damage.
