Default First stupid question from new Suburban owner

We bought a '13 Suburban LTZ last week and so far it has been great aside from the mileage on our first tank. I have one stupid question though- what do you hang the fuel cap on when filling??? In the manual it says to hang the tethered fuel cap from the hook on the door. I don't see a hook on the fuel door. What am I missing?

if it's tethered I let it hang... my 90 has a slot in the door to put the cap, but iirc the suburban was just tethered.

Thanks for the response. Never had a car that didn't have a place to put the cap- even with a tether. Seems odd that they would refer to a non existant hook in the manual too.

Yeah my previous body style Tahoe had a place for the cap to hang... I liked that better then the tether... if the tether ever breaks, you then have no hanger....

Thrumcap,

The only "stupid" question, is the one that goes unasked.

My Ford truck had the tether and no hook to hang it from. the previous owner would just let the cap hang during fill ups, now there is a large spot just below the filler cap the has worn through the clear coat. I cut the tether off and just put the cap on my bed rail I would never let the cap just hang there.
