Hey guys I need some help. I picked up a 5.3l vortec out of a 04 silverado and I'm wanting to put it in my 07 tahoe. My tahoe is a flex fuel but the silverado wasnt. So my question is do I need to do anything other than reprogram the computer to make it work in my tahoe?

 

Other than the normal stuff to get it working, I don't think the flex fuel will be an issue, provided you don't use. and with the issues caused by flex fuel, combined with the fact that it's not cheaper than real gasoline...

I think as long as you take the flex fuel sticker off your vehicle, that's about the only change you'd need...

but, I'm no expert.

 

What about smog in California that's my question ❓

 

change the wire harness to non and the ecm as well
