Default FLEX Fuel Sensor damaged?

I had to wrestle the quick disconnects from my Flex Fuel Sensor because the fuel lines were cooking/gluing the connections for almost 20 years.

I posted photos of the resulting damage that I caused.

Questions:
Are the open seams cause for concern?

Could epoxy seal the seams if the seams are problematic ?

What would happen if the sensor is damaged and I start the vehicle?

That opening is going to allow moisture in there and the part should be replaced. It will open up more as you drive the vehicle. I would have sent a link for your part but you gave no vehicle info, C'mon man!

Is this sealable with JB Weld to prevent moisture entry?

Vehicle : 2003 Tahoe 5.3 liter FLEX.

By the look of it water and corrosion has already gotten into it.
If its working you can roll the dice and seal it and see how long it lasts.
If it has issues it will throw some codes. You may find out it's now leaking fuel when you fire it up.
How many times do you want to mess with it vs replacing it vs cost and condition of the rest of the vehicle.
When it comes to fuel system parts I do not play around, how many burnt up vehicles does one see on the side of the road, a lot.

Now I see why you want to try and seal the one you got. This part is Genuine GM and is $322.79 at RA. https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo...412244&jsn=913.

Or AC Delco for $325.99 and free shipping at Amazon:
Amazon Amazon
.

Or this Genuine GM part at Amazon for $242.99:
Amazon Amazon
.

Or there are other cheaper ones at RA or Amazon if you want to chance them.

Trying to seal it when the old part is in that shape and afte@repairman54 said about leak chance, why would you chance using the old part.
