Default Flexible fuel lines for 2007-2013 Suburban?

Hi!

It looks like I will have to replace the fuel pump on my 2007 suburban. I live in a rust belt and will therefore replace the fuel lines at the same time.

I have seen alot of quick fix fuel lines for suburbans up to year 2006. They are flexible steel braided lines to an affordable price. They also seem to be available for Silverado 2007 and up. I just cant find any of these for Suburbans 2007 and up for some reason. Did anyone of you replace the fuel lines with anything other than the original steel fuel lines? Would it be possible to just run a good quality hose all the way from the fuel pump to the fuel rail and skip the connection in the middle? I am not a big fan of the quick connectors.

I honestly think a Silverado and Suburban would use the same fuel line, but maybe I am wrong. Actually I am likely wrong, as the trucks put the gas tank under the front of the bed, oriented front to back (i.e. lengthwise front to back) and the Suburban (at least my 2003 Yukon) puts it farther back, turned 90 degrees, under the 3rd row seating...

Are you sure the rigid fuel lines are not stainless? Do they look rusted?

Yeah, seems to be different. I assumed they were not stainless since a mechanic I talked to told me he has had to replace a few of those lines due to rust. I havent really inspected mine. I just assumed they would be rusted as alot of other parts on my car are.

If I can find two suitable quick connectors that can be attached to a vinyl hose I could make my own fuel line. I dont know much about these connectors, if they are all the same or which ones to get. One end would have to connect to the fuel pump and the other end to the fuel rail.

It looks like Dorman sells these connectors. However, when I was in contact with their customer support chat today I got a very quick reply saying they dont have any. I dont feel 100% sure that the lady was correct
