Default Front left axle not disengaging

Hi, I have a 1999 GMC Suburban 1500 4x4. I notice today when I had the front end jacked up that front left wheel does not disengage fully when in 2hi. When I spin the wheel you can see the front drive shaft turn a revolution or so then you can feel the wheel let go, spin free for just a bit then catch again and let go and so on. The right spins freely. I've done all the text book tricks I know like re-engaging the 4x4 and then taking it out and backing up 30 feet or so. Any idea's?

Thanks,

OK, I figured it out. When I initially found the "problem" I had both front axles hanging as the 'burb was jacked up and sitting on stands under the frame rails. So I jacked up the drivers side under the A-arm and it turns free like it is supposed to.
