Front and rear AC question
Hi All -
ive got a 2006 z71 Suburban with an odd air-conditioning problem. it had gotten low on Freon, so I recharged it. I haven’t use the suburban in a year or so.
Driving around, the AC was working but didn’t seem very cold (95 degree day). And gradually got less and less cool. I was about to think that it was low on Freon again, when I happened to turn on the rear AC, and was surprised to find that it was very cold. And shortly thereafter, the front also got very cold.
what could cause turning on the rear ac to trigger the front to get cold??
Also, earlier in the week, when I had put gauges to put Freon in the first place, I noticed the low side and high side pressure were 40-50 lbs different - despite the car having been parked for almost an hour. Is that normal that it would take so long for the high side and low side pressure to equalize with the car off??
