I noticed on my [08] Hoe that the windshield wipers will come on whenever they feel like it and apply washer fluid and clean my windshield. Today it happened 3 times in a 10-minute car ride home. I don't necessarily understand why they do this, maybe it's some sort of cleaning function? In any case, does this happen to you, and have you fixed it? I really don't wanna leave it at the dealership for a few days, I need a car to get me and my little brother to and from school.

The only thing that I know that will cause that is the button for the heated washer fluid. I've heard of folks tossing something in the console and hitting the button and after the heat cycle, the washer/wiper cycle starts. If you're sure that that's not happening, I'd pull fuse #69 and see if that stops it. That's the fluid heater fuse which is what they pull 'til the new harness w/ the fuse is available that keeps your hoe from doing a spontaneous combustion trick.

Alright, I'll pull it for now and wait until November, when I get the new harness and ask about it then. Thanks

I don't think so, I never have anything in that console. Just drinks in the cupholders occasionally. My little brother and I set our school stuff in the back rows. As far as I know, nothing touches the button.

spontanious combustion? is it worse than the 'hot' ford cruise control system?
http://www.safetyforum.com/fordcruisecontrol/
I don't know why it would need to be hot when the keys not in the car, as the cruise wouldn't work with the ENGINE OFF anyway, but who knows...
why wire in ANOTHER switch when you could just tap the switch that goes to the brake lights?
why put in 2 switches that do the same thing? complete a circuit when you push the brake?
will my dreams of a new tahoe go up in smoke (litterally)?
