I have a 2000 Suburban. The fuel pump, PCM and gauge cluster have all been replaced. The gas gauge continues to flip-flop between E and F no matter how much gas is in the tank. Any suggestions? It’s been in the shop for 2 weeks now…

90 percent of the time is a bad fuel level gauge in the tank. It could be your dash gasoline gauge, but not as likely as the fuel gauge. The reason for this is sub-par manufacturing in Asia.

 

the possibilities are:
- bad sending unit in the tank
- wiring problem for the sending unit to the module
- a bad gauge stepper motor in the cluster.
