Question:

When replacing my gas tank, can I swap the 31 gallon tank for the 37 gallon tank that was OEM available for the larger v8 (6.0 liter + ) that was available that same model year (2004). Is it a direct swap or are their nuances/issues? Anyone know the part number for the 37 gallon tank vs. the 31 gallon tank?

My 2004 Suburban has:

+ LT trim
+ Autoride
+ Vortec 5300 (5.3L)
+ Magnussen Supercharger (love it)
+ American Racing long tube pipes & headers

the frames are different so it probably won't be a direct fit. titan fuel tanks in the aftermarket may have a direct drop in tank.

 

Thanks, Tech2. Appreciate the input. Wanted to see if anyone else had looked into this. Where can I find the different part #'s for the 31 gallon tank and the 37 gallon tank? Most parts sites have visuals so perhaps I can compare the two.

I have not been able to find a parts site the differentiates or denotes which part is a 31 gallon tank and which one is the 37 gallon tank.
