Default GM. GPS signal issue

Hello,

I just recently purchased a OEM Nav unit. Everything works but the gps. I live in Texas and it says I'm in DC. There's a sign on nav unit that shows gps with a red dash on it. I have been driving around. Do I need to keep waiting for a signal.

so the navigation works or no?
I would suspect the antenna may not be connected correctly... who did your install?

Local auto electronics place. The antenna that came withthe radio is not the GM one. I think that might be the problem. It's not the one that goes underneath the dash.

check what region you have the map set to. I think you can pick 1 of 5 regions that cover the USA.
I live in the Dallas area and I randomly have the red arrow through the GPS for a few minutes but everything works just fine

It sounds like you may not have the gps unit installed. There should be a blue connector that plugs into the back of the DVD/NAV unit. This runs up to the dash where the gps unit click into place under the dash. Do you remember plugging this in when you installed the unit? If not, you can find them pretty easily on ebay. It is not too difficult to fish the wire from the dash to the back of the unit. You may also need the VSS wire installed (this also can be found on ebay easily). Follow this link. Some of it won't apply, but should get you on track with what you need to do. https://chevroletforum.com/forum/tahoe-suburban-25/how-install-oem-nav-2007-tahoe-2155/
