I installed the oem navagation about a month ago, took it to have the dealer program it.. Now my question is..I just bought a lockpick off ebay(they are getting cheaper) and was wondering that when i disconnect the nav to install lockpick do i have to take it back to dealer to have it reprogrammed(tech2) or will it work w/ out going back to dealer.. if i do go back to have it reprogrammed will lockpick void warranty??

Wait til after the dealership visit and then install the lockpick. You will not need a reprogram after installation

If you already have it programmed, and the tech 2 has been done and all features are currently working you do NOT need to have it Tech 2 programmed again. Just plug the Lockpick up and you are done! However, if you havent had your Nav unit programmed yet make sure to do it first!

No you will not have to have it programmed again just because you unplogged the connectors! Let us know how it works!

The radio is already vin learned (the radio ESN is already assinged to the BCM ESN), so if you disconnect the radio and leave in storage for many years, when you reconnect it will compare the esn (VIN) and turn on. If you install it in your friends vehicle (gm) it will see a different ESN (VIN) and go into "theft lock", as soon as you reinstall it in your vehicle (correct vin) it will unlock and work.
The theft lock will allow the VIN compare comand to pass thru to the radio. Some of the Lockpicks have not been working with the newest GM software.`
