GM Oil Life System - Question
I know with this oil life system, it has to be reset every time you get the oil changed. If there's an unknown issue that drained most of the oil from the engine, is there a different reset that would need to be done? Or is there something with the computer system that will prevent the engine from starting if the oil level is dangerously low?
No known issues with my 2002 suburban. It apparently leaked most of the oil out between driving for a week and/or sitting for two days (oil level was good when checked a week and a half before issue). After filling the oil back up, checking for leaks (found none), the vehicle won't start. Can't find anything else wrong with it...
Ideas?

The OLMS doesn't know the oil level. There is, at least on the GMT900s, an oil level sensor that tells you when it is too low. Don't know what the trip point is tho.
Was there no evidence of a leak where the vehicle was parked?
