Default hazard switch

I have a 1989 Suburban. How do I operate the hazard switch? I've tried pushing. I've tried pulling. But the hazard lights don't come on. Help!

Default RE: hazard switch

On the top of the steering column, there's a red button. Push it in and it will lock. Push it again to unlock it and it will pop back out. When it's pushed in, the hazard lights should be flashing. If they are not, then something else, a fuse, a relay, or some wiring is bad.

How do you fix a hazard light switch? It will not stay pushed in.
