Default Heated Seats

My wife has a 04 Tahoe Z71. We're having a problem with the seat heater. When the button is pressed to turn it on, It turns off immediatly. A click is heard when this happens. Can someone here please help? She wants to drive my suburban because I have heated seats and you know we can't have that. That's why I got her own truck for her to drive.

Maybe the click is a resettable circuit breaker. If so, then there might be a short in the seat heater.

Did you ever diagnose the problem, My wife's 2003 LT is doing the same thing. When I turn it on it shuts off after about 30 seconds, I tried the passenger and seemed to stay on til I turned on the Drivers side then they both shut off.

No but original answer in post #2 is all I can offer. Maybe some type of thermal overload protector.

Default Heated seats

My 2005 z71 suburban seats come on when not asked to. Not good in the summer. I also heard the licking sound as it turn on and off. What I did was disconnect the battery for an hour. Sometimes this will reset the computer inside. I thinks the Suburban has 3 computers in it. It did come on again and I did the same thing with the battery. I had to do this 3 times before it went away. That was during the summer. It has not happen since. Easy fix if it works.
