Help with "Service Ride Control"
My 2003 Suburban LT Service Ride Control message has been on for a year or so. Yesterday my cruise control would not work. I took it to the dealer who said that there was a short in the brake lights which along with the faulty ride control "burned out" the cruise control. He suggested replacing the ride control compressor ($600 for the part).
Is there a way to disable the ride control completely? Can I simply take the RTD fuse out and not bother replacing the compressor (the truck has 130,000 and I will probably only have it for another year). Is there another way to disable the ride control feature?
Any help would be appreciated.
