Help with 02 suburban over heating and AC
i have a 02 suburban 1500 LT autoride. I have a couple problems hoping you guys can help.
First when the truck is idling the ac starts to blow warm but once im moving it starts to blow cold.
also later today i was stuck in traffic for 30 to 45 min the truck started to over heat once i truned off the ac it was back at normal temperature.
So my question is what is casuing this? I came to the assumption that the thermestate is bad. Due to the two symptoms that its showing but what do you guys think?

And one more thing, LOL...the cabin air filter. You've noticed that when you switch from outside air to recycling cabin air that the volume of air increases when the AC is on for example. Again, my GUESS is that is because air from the outside is drawn through the cabin air filter, where recycled cabin air does not (I believe that's the case). So if a filter is dirty that can restrict the air flow and contribute the heating or AC issues too, possibly. The cabin air filter on by 01 Burb is behind the glove box, and is in two pieces. Many are unaware that this filter even exists, as was a friend who has an 01 Silverado. When he did have them changed after 200,000 miles they looked like carpet padding. He was shocked that he knew nothing of them. This item is probably irrelevant to your problem, but every little thing helps.
Now go to (2). Cap and thermostat are inexpensive. Question: the fan shroud is present and correct type, right??? You are using about 50/50 coolant/water, right? When you changed the radiator at 215K did you get a heavy-duty one, or one for a small truck??
Might be getting to where you visit an independent ASE mechanic to let a second set of eyes look at it.

why would sealers would be bad? Clogged hose lines? And i don't think so since I've added the 134a couple of months ago.
I've read that AC shops will not service systems that contain sealers, as sealer can muck up their recovery/filling equipment. A "fix in a can" is not a fix !!!
Yes - I know these companies advertise how easy this is !!! Ask at http://autoacforum.com/ if you don't believe me.

Remember: you have two issues: (1) AC and (2) overheating of the engine at idle/low speeds
Hmm - could your replacement fan clutch have been bad????????????????
i really dont think so it was stiff when i turned the new one. Bought it new anf it was a delco
