Help! 09 tahoe stalls when fueling
one tube on the purge leads to the rear of the vehicle and connects to the charcoal cannister. the other tube connects to a vacuum port near the throttle body.
disconnect the line at the purge solenoid that goes the back. With the engine running and the electrical connector unplugged...you should feel no vacuum from the purge.
with the back line disconnected...refuel....if it is still a hard start its not the purge causing the problem.

been a while since i worked for gm so...one is the vent solenoid...the other one I'm not sure... maybe a evap fresh air filter????...
way it should be set up...
fresh air filter to vent solenoid to cannister....one line off cannister to purge solenoid and one large line off cannister to tank.

first of all where is the cannister? Inspect and make sure all the lines are connected.
not sure what is going on there...make sure everything is connected and the cannister is present.
on a normal set up...a clogged cannister would cause a hard to fill tank. Worse case it could cause the tank to collasped as no air can enter when the fuel is pumped out.
if the lines aren't connected it would set a purge fault code.
what causes a hard start after refueling is fuel vapours from the tank being pushed past a stuck open purge valve.

The canaster looks good everything is connected. It is hard to fuel the pump shuts off multiple times. The purge valve in the engine bay is new that was my first thought but it’s a new one. So I don’t know could the evap canister vent cause the problems I’m having. “The hard starting after fueling”
a block evap vent line will cause the hard/slow fuel fill. the vent line includes the vent filter and tube to the vent solenoid to the cannister to the tank vent line. this entire bunch of lines and parts must be free flow for air in and out of the tank.
hard start after fueling is from a stuck open purge. it doesn't hard start any other time correct?
