Default Help!

My 2007 Chevy Suburban was rear ended and required a new bumper and liftgate. When I picked up the truck after the repair, the liftgate (not a power liftgate) would not stay up at all. I told the repair man that I had never had any issue with the liftgate staying up but he stated that neither the accident nor the repair to replace the liftgate could not have caused this issue. It just seems too coincidental to me that this problem only surface after the accident and repair?? Is this true? Is there no way that the accident or repair result in me having to replace the gas shocks? Thank you for any insight.

Anything is possible although it is very unlikely that the accident caused this problem. The gas shocks aren't that expensive and pretty easy to install. Check the link.
