Help, crank no start
2006 suburban 5.3l 1500. I was driving home today and it just shut off. Still had power, radio didn't skip or anything but the motor just shut off. I was able to pull of the road thankfully and got it towed home. But I tried starting it back up multiple times but nothing, just cranks. It's getting fuel and air. Check engine light came on, but the port to read the codes isn't working which I just discovered too. Newer battery, new alternator 6 months ago. Any ideas? Something easy and cheap? Lol
Did you do a fuel pressure test to make sure it is getting the proper fuel pressure? Try spraying starter fluid into the throttle body to see if it runs for a few seconds. If it does it is a fuel problem. If it doesn't then it is an ignition problem which could be a crank sensor for one.
