whats up folks im new here and i like it this is a nice forum!!! i hope someone can help me im goin crazy! i have a 96 tahoe with the 350 vortec ive installed plugs, plug wires, cam sensor, crank sensor, intake gaskets, fuel pump relay, and fuel filter . it only jumps while going down the road it seems to jump more when decellerating its almost like the engine dies for a second, some days it runs fine but most it doesnt! pleas somebody have some ideas im all out!!!!!!!
yea the check engine light is on but of course its the oxygen sensor!!! local parts store put it on their computer. im gonna try the fuel pressure tommorow if i can find a pressure gauge!!! ive noticed it acts like it wants to die when i leave from a stop then it takes off really hard. ill let u know what happens
What is the exact code number. Unless it is a o2 heater circuit code it may not mean it need a o2 sensor. The guys at the parts store usually do not really no much about cars they are in the business of selling parts not fixing cars. Codes do not tell you what is broken they only tell you what is being affected. Free code scan at the auto parts store is a sales gimmic. When you have a code you need to follow a diagnostic trouble tree to find the bad part. I would bet the code is being set as a result of what is happening.
Our Tahoe does the same thing, but will also die while slow cornering. Starts right back up. This problem is intermittent, runs fine then acts up. 125k mi.,
changed plugs and wires, fuel filter. When I changed filter, fuel (tank side of filter)had a grayish tint to it. Does the pump have only one pickup tube or possibly a upper and lower. Thanks for any ideas. Thinking about changing pump.
