At least they (GM) fixed the template. Many early installs were messed up do to the hole locations being in the wrong place. Even then the wire loom was in the way. I fixed mine after the dealer installed in wrong twice.

 

how do you know if your have the correct template or not? I just purchased one. When laying under the truck with the template pressed up do I push it towards the front of the truck or flush with the rear? It is so unclear in the instructions as to what part of the template gets lined up with what.
