Can you purchase the parts and add Homelink to your Tahoe if it was not factory equiped with it?

Yes,
The plastic overhead panel needs to be changed and there are many different units depending on the exact options (sunroof, power liftgate, power release center seats etc) that your Tahoe has.

The power wire for the Homelink or Car2U system is in place in the electrical connector and it is plug and play.

I am a buyer... wonder what it will set us back...? Are we pre-wired for homelink?

Power wire is there, to remove the unit remove the light lens (pry from the front edge with fingertips)
There are two Torx head (#15 or 20 if memory serves me) and then there are two spring clips.
Tighten to 18 in/lb

ZX,
Do you have a part number and do you know about how much it cost?

That I do not, you'll have to call up your local Chev dealer parts counter.

I wanted to do this also and my Yukon does not have the sunroof, so only the airbag lights, dome lights and the Homelink would be there and I was quoted $320 for that little panel! Apparently the only way it comes is with the Homelink transmitter (which of course we want) and new dome lights and airbag panel. The part number I was given was 15913184 (that number could be for my Titanium interior). Does this sound right?

Another option is to buy the Homelink buttons from ebay. They are available in many colors. They remove just thehomelink from the visor style. You could retro fit it and use the power already there. Some as low as $29...

Here's a link to all you need - small transmitter and wire.

Well, the price is better than the dealer, but I agree that the descriptions on GMPartsDirect remain to be desired
