There is alot more behind it than this. The amp is protecting your stereo for a reason. Plus, what ohm are your factory speakers?
What ohm is your HU?

And you will mess up your HU.
You need to know the ohms first. Unless you add an aftermarket amp

Sorry HotSauce6226 but you are wrong on this matter. The problem is the aftermarket head unit pushes to many volts through the factory amplifier causing it to clip. The solution should be to simply unplug the factory amplifier. BTW this isn't going to mess up your head unit.

HotSauce is right actually.....lets say the front doors are rated at 2ohms, and the front tweeters are at 2ohms as well.....put them together and you get 1ohm, thats enough to overdrive\overheat the headunit and cause damage.
Most headunits are made to work on speakers rated at 4ohms

Hi I'm having a problem with right turns and bumps cutting my speakers out, I was wondering if you could give me advice on what to do.
