How can I bypass factory amp
how do i bypass factory amp 95 suburban I put a new cd player in and now the highs turn off when i turn it up then i have to turn the deck off for minit turn it back on then it works butt if i turn it up the high turn off just the subs are working any one know how to bypass the factory amp????????
dont know the ohms they are stock speakers im just going to wire it up strate to the deck bypass all the bull ****,,
Sorry HotSauce6226 but you are wrong on this matter. The problem is the aftermarket head unit pushes to many volts through the factory amplifier causing it to clip. The solution should be to simply unplug the factory amplifier. BTW this isn't going to mess up your head unit.
HotSauce is right actually.....lets say the front doors are rated at 2ohms, and the front tweeters are at 2ohms as well.....put them together and you get 1ohm, thats enough to overdrive\overheat the headunit and cause damage.
Most headunits are made to work on speakers rated at 4ohms
