Thanks for all the help.... Another question.. I just noticed today that the volume on the radio seems to only go half way.. Is this because it needs to be programed? or is it because of the VSS wires?

I think when you have the tech II done they have to program it for the Bose system which will fix the volume problem and turn on the Sub. I think I remember reading that some one else had the same problem in another thread and the Tech IIresolved it.

You do have Boses, right?

The reason I know it is only going about half way is because it was about twice as loud with the radio that came with the car

I thought you had to have the Bose system to fully utilize the nav system.

OK... so I started the process of installing my OEM-Nav system. The hardest part of the entire process is definately removing the trim piece around the radio. That took me a good 20 minutes!!

The GPS antenna went in without a problem. It took me a few minutes to figure out how to get the wire to where it needed to be, but the assistance of a modified metal hangar with a hook on the end did the trick.

I connected the radio and sure enough, it said Theftlock. That's a good sign.

I put the old radio in again. I am still waiting for the VoiceCommand module from JPCustoms.

Now here's my question. When I spoke to the 'tech' at the dealership (growing up, whey were mechanics) about my plans he told me that in order for him to program the truck with the Tech-II, he needed the 3 character codes for what was being added (like the sticker in the glovebox). I told him I would see what I could find. I read through every submission on this thread and didn't see them. Could someone please let me know what codes to give this guy?? I want to activate the rear camera as well, so I'll need that code too (I'll get that installed after I get some more $$$ I guess). I don't know if he just hasn't got a clue, but that is what he said was needed in order to get it done.

ZX - feel free to jump in!!!

With hope, the JP module will arrive on Friday, then maybe (just maybe) they can do the programming on Saturday morning for me. That would be nice.

What he needs to know is the part # of the Nav unit and to answer "Not Equipped with Y91" when reprogramming.

He can also select "yes to rear camera" during this as well.

Hate to hotlink to someone else's site, but this will give you an idea of how the Tech 2 programming works:

So... does anyone in the Hudson Valley (NY) have a Tech2 that can do the programming for me??? I'm in the Poughkeepsie area.

I just lost all confidence in the 'tech' at the dealership - he said that he needed all of the 3-digit codes.

Yikes!!!
