Default Howling from Steering Column

Hello Folks!

My dad has a 2005 Chevrolet Suburban Z-71 with 144,000 miles. It runs perfect, shifts perfect never a minutes trouble! Great vehicle.

The only issue with it is a loud howl you can hear and feel when turning that feels like the intermediate shaft is rubbing or something similar. I know the shaft was recalled due to a clunk etc. but this one does not have that symptom, just an annoying howling noise when turning.

Any help is appreciated.

Best!

Welcome to the forum,
I would think a "howl" would be the power steering pump or possibly a front wheel bearing....
