Hurricane Sandy Truck
So I've come to the conclusion that my truck has spent some time under water. It was a Massachusetts truck and I got it in July. After working on it a bit, I've found quite a bit of sand and surface rust on the frame. I just replaced my autoride compressor and it was full of rust, and still some water. The rotors were trashed. Never should have passed the dealer's inspection.
Upon closer inspection of the truck, I'm finding more evidence of a possible flooding. I don't think it made it inside the cab, and so far all of the electrical still works. The compressor was the big question but once I hooked up the new one it fired right up.
I've put about 6k on it and it runs really well. I'm not too concerned about it, but my problem is that the dealer had to know that something was up with this thing. Do I have any leg to stand on with them or is it a lost cause. I did see the history record with no issues, but they didn't make me sign it like other dealers do.
Buyer beware, but luckily, I still love the truck and don't regret buying it, and don't want to get rid of it. Anything else I should look for or get checked out?

Have you checked the title for any salvage info... it could have been someones play toy on the beach and was driven in the surf....
Its possible it was in flood waters, but those waters as you said never made it into the cabin...
I would consider having the differential fluid replaced as the vent tube for it could have been under water...
