Default White exhaust smoke

Well two months ago . I had really bad white smoke coming out of my exhaust . So I went out and got a intake manifold gasket and started to brake down my upper engine. Every day after work outside in the cold I worked on it for over a week. On Thursday I finally got it back together. Friday morning I drove it to work, which is about 20 min. When I got there I popped the hood and saw antifreeze , and though ****. So I started work. When I got done work . I popped the good again and started my burb. I saw antifreeze coming from the bypass hose . I was a happy camper. I went to auto zone and got a new hose and filled the radiator and resavior . I must not of filled it enought to fill the intake. So this morning I filled it again and drove it to the city and back and around town. As of right now it's holding the antifreeze and it where it should be.
Im hoping it's fixed and not the head gasket. I'll find out in the morning when I go and look to see if it's still full and when I start it and see if the white some is there. Wish me luck ......
Thanks for reading.

I forgot to say . My suburban only has 78,000 miles on it. It sat for a long time because the guy that had it was in the army and was never around to drive it.

Well I got up this morning and looked under the good. The resavior and radiator was still full, that's a great thing. But when I started it it still smoked really bad. I live in North Carolina and it's been getting down to freezing, like 31-32 deg. Some peolpe I talked to , said that is normal for that old of a truck.
I don't think that's the facted. I'm thinking now it maybe the valve seals.
If I'm wrong about that let me know. Or what you think it mite be. I'll take a video tomorrow and try and post it or some pictures so every1 can see.
