Default Hypertech Performance Programer for 99 Hoe

I've heard that these things are super effective in increasing performance and gas mileage. Does anyone on here have one? Would you recommend?I would like to program mine and see what difference it makes. I would be willing to pay all shipping and a small usage charge...99 Tahoe 5.7L.
later.

This programmer makes little difference in performance and/or economy.
Once the unit has been used to reprogram a vehicle it cannot be used on another vehicle until the first one is put back to stock programming. In other words; it cannot be passed around.

Maybe,
If you need to correct for non-stock size tires or raise the speed limiter (for racetrack use) or would like to adjust your shift points and firmness etc it may be worth $320 to you especially if you have money to burn.

But if you work hard for your money and don't care much about those adjustments then save your dough.

Hi. The Hypertech are good programmers, we sell a lot of them. They are nice units and good for the money. Call or email me if you are interested in purchasing one...

With Diesels I would say hell yes super effective 100+ HP easy, but with gas just a little effective - not worth the $ unless like ZX said to adjust for wheel size or shift points. Just my humble opinion.

There is only one way to gain any real power from the current GMT900 power plants
(forced aspiration) anything less and you are kidding yourself.
Keep in mind that less then a 10% gain in power is next to impossible to detect with seat-of-the-pants technology.

There is also only one way to get better economy (adjust your driving habits), show me a product that claims to boost your MPG on these trucks and I'll show you a bogus claim.

Every conceivable piece of engineering that had the potential to improve fuel efficiency on this vehicle was implemented during its inception, and GM spent millions to do so.

If you want a little more power and better MPG look into the new Hybrid 08 Tahoe when they are introduced later this year.
