Default I just started installing my GM navigation head! .. and a small question

Hi,

I just started installing the 15940102 unit to my 2007 Yukon Denali with Bose and read DVD screen with no On Star. I got the VSS connection from JP Customs and I just removed the factory unit. I was surprised that it has four bunch of cables connected to all the four sockets, and I am now confused! which one I should use for the VSS?? or is the VSS is "already" connected and I should do nothing?? .. take a look to what I found after removing the stock factory unit:

And second question, I booked a time for tomorrow morning in the dealer workshop to unlock it using the TechII, can you advice me about what to do exactly to enable the rear camera feature? I remember I saw a post talking about different options in the TechII screen but I couldnt find it.

Your fast response will be highly apperciated! as I will be there tomorrow morning!

It appears that the brown plug in your truck is already got the VSS wire and the rear camera wiring as well. I would assume that I would just use the plug in the truck. You can go here and get a break down of all the plugs from ZX: https://chevroletforum.com/m_15129/mpage_2/key_/tm.htm

Thanks e for the link, that will be very useful for me. You are right, it seems that my truck is already have the VSS connection! thats really strange, because the stock radio has no navigation capabilities, so I dont know why its connected to a VSS probe. Also I noticed that terminals no. 6 and 7 which are used as the + and - for the rear camera are also connected to somewhere. I've been told that a Denali will be ready cabled for a rear view camera provision, but when I looked under the passenger seat I didnt find the camera control box, and thats why I went ahead and bought a 3rd party camera with its own control box (from Smart Park, via JP Customs). Now to have that camera connected, shall I just make a T connection to the factory plug and get a + and - for the aftermarket camera? or may I just discard the factory connector and just use the one provided by JP Customs which only have the VSS and camera terminals?

When you looked under the passenger seat, did you see any plugs that just dead ended? might even be right under carpet or attatched to seat frame. I would assume that if they prewired the head unit that they would do the same for the camera box. I could be wrong. Anyone know the coloror have a picture of the plug for the camera box under the seat?On the jpplug you could tap into the the gr/wht of the factory brownplug and then connect the camerato the jp plug. Or just tap or cut the factory camera wires to your aftermarket camera. Anyway should work fine. If you dont use the jp plug can I buy it from you?

Page 5 of this link shows the factory camera plug under the passenger seat. It is intended for Coastals' GMX-320 box so it can control the camera power so you can view while you are going down the road.

e : I searched under the pass seat, nothing was found. I will just take the + and - connection from behind the radio and go from there. Regarding selling the JP plug, I sure would do that but I am in Qatar, too far away, are you in US?

snomon : Thanks for the useful link, it has so many interesting thing, I shall visit the company's website and see what they are selling.

You guys are the best! [sm=thanx.gif]
