Default Idles too low

I have a 2001 tahoe. It is a 2WD with 121,000 on a 5.3 liter engine. The problem is it is idling too low and falls dead, it runs fine otherwise. It is not throwing any codes.
Not sure what I'm looking for, just know that something is causing the idle to be too low.

Try the idle speed solenoid. It's on the intake manifold and uses a plunger to the throttle blade to keep the idle right. It may have a bad connection.

Thanks for your reply,

I have indeed checked the idle speed solenoid. Mechanically, it is functioning properly, and the connection is good. I think the computer is never telling the solenoid what to do.
Any other suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Does the vehicle have an idle adjustment screw?

Did you ever figure this out? My 2003 Tahoe 5.3L is doing the same thing. It stalled a couple times today at stop signs, otherwise it seems to run ok.
