3 of 4 inside handles are starting to peel. Possible spinters and cuts. I wonder if I should bring them in now, or wait till they get worse. How bad was the peeling on yours (by yours i mean anyone who has brought it back to the dealer for replacement)? Thanks.

They didn't argue about it at all. GM extended warranty covered mine since it was after 36K.

Tell them they're getting sharp. They can't argue that.

Good luck... G..

I'm fighting with GM about this issue on my wife's tahoe. She's got 42k and her passenger side inner door handle has cut her twice so far, and the dealer refused to fix it under warranty. They did offer to fix it for $230 though.

Does anyone know the part number of the pass side inner chrome handle for an 07 LTZ? I'd like to just order it online if GM doesn't come through for me. Thanks.

Mine is an 07 mfg date of 03/07 in Arlington Texas, all the handles appear to be pretty smooth. I'd book mark this thread as if there are enough complaints GM may have to warranty it as a safety issue.

The root cause of the problem is that the handle mfg didn't do an adequate job of removing the mold flash which left the sharp edge. Then after plating, you have a nice sharp edge. I haven't look at any no ones to see if they ever fixed the problem.

Even if you manage to avoid cutting yourself, the sharp edge w/ eventually break down and then the plating w/ start to peel off.

Well, we escalated to GM, and it's been bouncing around with them. Apparently the dealership isn't cooperating with them, so it has been escalated. I'm curious to see what happens. I looked on GMpartsdirect, but the diagram is hard to read. Looks like the part could be anywhere between $3 to $150.

I tried too and could only find a listing for the "handle inside back" but not the handle for the front doors...Hummmm..... I wonder if there might be a reason for that.
