Is there a place where i can come up with a procedure to replace the intake gasket on my 2001 suburban 5.3 motor. I think i have a coolant leak. smell coolant sometimes after driving a while.

Are you getting water in your oil? Are you adding coolant constantly? If so you have a leak. Try Youtube. They have videos on most everything.

Besides Youtube, there's always the Factory Service Manual.

There is no coolant running through the intake of a 5.3. It is not your leak.More than likely your water pump is leaking.

No 5.3 motors have problems with leaking coolant from the intake as no 5.3 have coolant in intake. The 5.7 had a coolant leaking from intake .
