I was in park. I believe I had started the tahoe before putting the DVD in.

 

I have the same question....There has to be a way to override the DVD so it will play while the car is in drive.

Anyone have a clue...Maybe a wiring diagram would work to show me the light.

I just bought a 2007 program tahoe. It didnt not have the wireless headphones or remote for the factory rear dvd. Can anyone direct me where to find some that will work? Also part numbers for the remote and headphones?

DOes anyone have a set they dont use or want to sell? Thanks.

 

The navigation/DVD combo has two slots to insert a DVD/CD. One is under the flip down display, this is used for the navigation DVD. The second is above the display next to the MP3 player jack. The second/top slot is used for DVD's/CD's. The DVD will play and transmit on the back screen always, but only on the navigation screen up front when the vehicle is in park.(Coastal Electronics has a hack for this for around $250.00 called GM Lockpick.) I saw a reply earlier in this thread that the lock pick doesn't allow a non-dvd (with NAV) radio play a dvd. My question is, if you have another video source (e.g., vizualogic a-2000 headrest/dvd setup) can the NAV radio somehow be used simply as a monitor for the aftermarket DVD source. In other words, will the NAV radio accept an external video feed?Any help would be appreciated! Thanks.

I've purchased and installed the lockpick to enable DVD's on the front screen while in motion and my wife loves it! When a movie is being watched in the back I like to have the sound in the vehicle so I can hear what is going on. Now my wife can also watch the screen on the front. 73Shark is correct that this is illegal and can be distracting. I peronally like hearing the movie and don't get distracted to look at the screen, but for those who are easily distracted I would strongly advise against. I recently heard "The Sandlot", which everyone seemed to enjoy : )

 

I am looking to find out how or what way to be able to disable the driving restrictions on my front driver dvd/ nav. system in my 2007 Z71 chevy tahoe....I have front and rear dvd...and as I am sure most know the rear plays only when driving and the front and rear play when parked.....I just want to have the front play so my front passenger can watch as well as the back...I can care less about watching it and it will be plenty safe if the front passenger and rear are watching it.....so it is lame that they do not allow that or enter address's on the nav. while moving......Does anyone know a simple and or cheap way to disable this? I have herd of several people doing it.....I have even seen some things you can install to make it work but they cost alot..... thanks in advance to anyone that can help..... thanks alot!!! T.
