Default just a little advice please

Have a question for anyone who has installed the factory nav. in an LT1 tahoe without the Bose. When you ran the speakers leads from the amp to the HU did you; a) tap into the speaker wires to the C1 and C2 before the OEM-1 interface or b) did you tap into the speaker outputs in the actual interface itself? Or does it even matter? Also, did anyone else have a squealing problem from the speakers when you connected the amp. Can anyone help or give some pointers b/c my install isn't going that smooth.
