Default Left rear turn signal light not flashing on 2008 Suburban.

My left rear turn signal light does not blink when using the turn signal. The light also doesn't blink when I turn on the hazard flasher. When I use the turn left signal, the dash light, front turn signal light, and turn indicator on outside mirror will flash fast after the first two flashes. When I turn on the hazard flasher, the lights blink at a normal rate. On each instance, the left rear turn signal light will not work.

I have replaces all the bulbs with the proper OEM required light bulbs and inspected the wiring harness leading up to the bulb sockets. There is no indication of bare wires or moisture in the bulb sockets. Plus, the tail lights on both sides work when the lights are turned on.

If you have experienced this type of problem and found the solution to fix the malfunction, your input on how to repair the ( short/bad ground ? ) turn signal problem will be greatly appreciated. I have also check the fuse for the turn signal and its good. Been searching for the hazard flasher and have yet to find it.

Have you tried using a test light on the socket of the left rear turn signal to confirm that you are not getting any power? Your post notes that the turn signal is not working and I read that as the light is not illuminating / flashing. If all of the bulbs are new and you are not getting power at the rear of the vehicle, yet all other lights on the same circuit are working, you will need to trace the wire for the rear light to find the break or loose connection.

Electrical repairs can take a lot of time to resolve. Hopefully it will not take too long.

Default Left rear turn signal not working

Testing for power to trace down a possible break is the next thing in a line of checks I plan to make. I have checked the weather pack plug for the harness to the left tail lights section. It is clean as can be. Will take your advice and confirm if circuit has power at bulb socket and the connector. Will start the process of tracing it back to the break if there is one. So far I have not been able to locate any bare wires. Got a few other electrical issues I am trying to solve to go with the turn signal problem. Cruise control working intermittently and air bag light in dash came back on after replacing the front right sensor.

Turn signal problem is the easiest to work on at the moment. Thanks for the input mulmur1. Will return with updates on progress on where the problem occurred in the circuit. In the meantime, it's back to hunting down where the hazard flasher is located in the circuit.

Default Left rear turn signal not working

Just an update. Put a test light to the socket and the connector to the tail lights harness. Both places probed had no power to the leads when the turn signal and hazard flashers were activated. The hunt continues for the place where my Suburban has broke the connection to the left rear turn signal. Will get back when I find it. Have a sneaking suspicion that it may somehow be related to my cruise control not working. Will be replacing the brake light switch this week. Will let those following my post how that works out.

Replaced the brake switch a few months back. It was not the problem. But, my cruise control is back in working order.

I just got this problem on my 2008 Chevy Suburban.
Left rear turn signal light does not blink when using the turn signal.
The light doesn't blink when I turn on the hazard flasher.
When I use the turn left signal, the dash light, front turn signal light, and turn indicator on outside mirror will flash fast after the first two flashes. When I turn on the hazard flasher, the lights blink at a normal rate. On each instance, the left rear turn signal light will not work.

I took it to the dealer. They tried replacing the Body Control Module (BCM) but that didn't fix it. They found:
"No power coming out of BCM for turn signal-tested-found circuit 1334 yellow & black wire shorted to ground-found short located in underhood fuse block-replaced underhood fuse block." My cost for repair: $600.

However, a few weeks later, the left rear turn signal stopped working again. I took it back to the dealer. A different technician had to splice a wire to make it work. I was told he found a short. When I got the bill for $500, I asked where the short was. The technician answered, "It was in the fuse block." So, they immediately realized the billing problem and refunded my $500. They asked to have my Suburban for a third time so they can replace the fuse block again. That is happening today.

The problem with the left turn signal happened again! First, the dealer said it was yet another shorted fuseblock! That was the fuseblock that they already replaced at least twice.
And he said, "It looks like somebody was messing around under the fuseblock." No kidding? That's the fuseblock they worked on multiple times.
I pointed out that they had already serviced this vehicle for a "shorted fuseblock" multiple times. He asked to keep it overnight.
The next day, they said they found an open connection in the BCM and replaced it. Oddly, they had told me that the BCM didn't fix the problem the first time I had it in.
I got another bill for $600. I hope this problem is gone for good but my confidence isn't high.

After 4 years, I finally solved the problem with my rear left-turn signal on my 2008 Suburban. I've had it in the shop four times at a cost well in excess of $1000. They replaced the BCM twice and the fuse box twice only to have the same problem reappear. When it failed most recently, I started looking for bad connections or shorts. While the problem usually is just good or bad, I have seen it go from not working to working. So, it seemed like an intermittent problem. I just needed to figure out what makes it go from good to bad and back. After wiggling a lot of wires and connectors around the under-hood fusebox, I found that the problem centered around a wiring harness behind the fusebox (toward the driver compartment). When I pushed down on the harness, the turn signal stopped working. When I lifted up on the harness, the turn signal started working.I felt under the harness and detected a sharp metal corner poking into the harness. It is a difficult to access area. My solution was to wrap that area of the harness in leather and fasten it on with tie-wraps. Now, the metal corner cannot invade the harness. Now, my turn signal works all the time. I can press down or lift on the harness and it continues to work.

Sounds like it's time to request refunds. You paid for a fix, and they were just guessing.

Good Evening, I’m having the same issues with my Truck and I read your Blog. I was wondering if you had more pictures of the cable causing issues and where exactly you used Tie Wrap to narrow down the short. I going nuts! Please if you could help I would highly appreciate.

Thanks
