Default Lethargic A/C on 07 LTZ

Does anyone out there have an 07 with weak air conditioning. I have to set both sides at 62 degrees and run the fan on high to cool the cabin down in summer temps.

The dealer supposedly "reprogrammed" the digital controls on my last visit and says that GM is working on another "fix" that should be on a T.S.B. soon.

On any of my other Auto-A/C vehicles, a 68 to 70 setting would do the trick. Something's not quite right here.

Compared to older model GM SUV’s the GMT900's electronic climate control needs to be set at cooler temps to maintain the same level of comfort.
The "Y0079 - SB 06024 PRODUCT INHANCEMENT - HVAC MODULE REPROGRAM" was a software set that was meant to make this system act more like the older systems that people have become accustomed to, but it is still not quite what the doctor ordered.
Your dealer is correct; expect to see an updated HVAC module software set just in time for winter.

On a side note; if it is extremely hot (100+) and the humidity is high and your vehicle is equipped with the Ebony leather pkg then you will have to run the settings very low to get and maintain comfort.
The recommendation is to set the unit to "Auto" with Aux "On" and adjust only the temperature as any other adjustment will throw the system out of "Auto", if you choose not to use the "Auto" feature then turn the temp all the way down to 60 and adjust the fan as necessary until the cabin gets cool enough with the fan in the lowest settings and then start running the temperature up if necessary.

My 2007 Tahoe's A/C system does not seam to work as well as my 2004 did.

ZX,

You're right on the money! I do have the ebony leather, and we just experienced 10+ days of 100 and above weather....4 days at 111 degrees.

I have done just what you describe to get decent results. You know yer stuff...I can't wait, though, for the new fix to be published.

Thanks, man!

I'll try this method tomorrow.

Thanks.
