Lift gate closes on the way up

Same issue i had recently
I am not a mechanic. I had the same problem on my 07 chevy tahoe ltz. After watching youtube and reading online i decided to try replacing the support struts for the lifgate. Went online and found some on Amazon for $35. Installed myself (it is best to have someone help bc without the support struts on that door is extremely heavy) and now it opens and closes perfectly.
