Tahoe & Suburban The power, space, and brutal towing ability make the Tahoe and its longer sibling, the Suburban, arguably the best full size SUV's on the market today.

Default A little puzzled...(?)...about '99 Tahoe.

I own a '99 Tahoe LT 4-door 4x4...all stock except for the embroidered headrests, aftermarket exhaust, and the aftermarketstereo. It has the usual LT package (htd/pwr mirrors/seats, leather, 350 V8, blah blah blah). AndI have seen pictures of other '99 Tahoes (some LS, some LT)and I see some of them with a shift lever in the floor on the driver's side. My truck does not have this shiftlever.Question 1 is: what is this shift lever? Next, I have also seen some pictures of other '99 Tahoes with a third seat facing the rear. Question 2: Was this a factory option for '95-'99 model year Tahoes?

The shift lever on the floor is the lever for the 4wd. Some vehicles do not have the optional push button 4wd engage. I bought my suburban with the lever because I know it would not fail.
