Default Locking gas cap

I have a 2009 Suburban and the ck engine light came on. I took the gas cap off and noticed that the little round disc inside the throat of the tank is missing. I thought these late model vehicles had something in place for preventing siphoning hoses from entering. Is that true? If not, can you use any locking gas cap?

Sure you can get a locking gas cap. Just get a good one(Stant or something like that) so you don't get a CEL. Even if you get a locking gas cap if they want you gas they will get it. Like all locks they are just made to keep honest people honest. I keep my pet Pigmy Rattlesnake inside my fuel door coiled up around the filler neck.....just kidding. But after thinking it that's not a bad idea.

Welcome to the forum...
I would agree about the cap, its a good deterrent from your local neighborhood teen needing a few gallons... but it won't stop those that be determined....
