Hi Guys,

I am in the market for my first big real SUV, and I settled on the 2021 Tahoe, maybe RST trim from I have learned thus far. Two reasons, more room for family (of 4) trips, and being able to tow my dedicated track car (04 M3) to the race tracks around here on the East Coast Summit Point, NJMP, etc)
I don't think need the fancy Premier and High Country trims (they are getting to expensive for me anyway), and besides the extra's ventilated seats, heads up display, ventilated seats, I see the lower models have a single speed transfer case. I don't plan any kind of off roading so single speed case should be just fine. I like the RST for the black trim pieces on the outside, 22in wheels - nice stance. I am only considering the diesel. Is there any diesel owners here to chime in? I am just curious to "hear" some real-life feedback.

All of sudden dealers around me (Baltimore, MD), started asking "Market Adjustment" fees in the range of 5K above sticker. Is this a local hype or it is really that high of a demand out there? If that is the case, I would have to wait for this hype to settle down...
On a side token, seems LS, LT trims seem to still show with sticker prices, no "market adjustment" on those. Are RSTs that special?

I am seeking to negotiate 3-4 K under MSRP of a decent optioned RST with MSRP 70-72K, to cover some of my state taxes, but seems that is wishful thinking right now. What can you guys advise? What is the Tahoe market where you are? Should I venture out and look for smaller dealers outside my home area?
If you don't mind sharing some examples, how much did you pay for your 2021 Tahoe? When is 2022 models due to come out?

Last comment, when you try to "build" your Tahoe on the chevy site, no packages are available for the RST. For "Luxury Package" it says "(Limited Availability-Currently Not Orderable)". Is Chevy adjusting the options/trims in some way that makes RST already out there more special?

Avoid the 8 speed transmission, I bought a 2021 Silverado with the 8 speed transmission. I have an intermittent clunk when coming to a stop as it shifts into low. After 4 trips to my dealer, it has not been resolved. GM will not admit that 2020 and 2021 vehicles have an issue. The service manager, a service writer and two technicians have driven it and agree that there is a problem, but they don't know how to fix it.

 

I would not be spending my coin on a 2021 based on problems well documented on this forum - even at a steep discount!!
