Default LOUD knock in front end after a repair

I just had the front end on my 1999 Suburban rebuilt about a week ago (tie-rods, etc). I drove it around a few days in town, no issues. This weekend I took about a 50 mile trip on the highway. No issues the entire way untill I was getting off the higway ... I put on the brakes and turned right and it felt like someone was pounding my front end with a hammer. Not minor, it was loud and I could feel it. I drove straight to the first parking lot, and again when I turned in it did it again, but not so bad. I looked underneath for I have no idea what, and decided I'd just drive till something broke. Well, that was the end of it, never happened again. So I'm just wondering if maybe something didn't get put back together just right and now it's all better, or if I should take it back to the garage. If the recommendation is to take it back to the garage, any idea what I should tell them to look for? I just don't want to get the run-around, I'd like to sound like I knew what was up. Thanks for looking !!!!

well....a lady across the street had a similar style situation. She has a 1979 Cadillac Coupe DeVille and she had her guy do some work to it. He replaced the lower ball joints in December. She complained of a knocking sound to him also. She was down at the corner doing a 360 to turn the car around and no sooner than when she straightened the wheel the Right wheel fell off the car. I was working on my Suburban drilling the nut off the rusted shock stud and I heard a loud ****! and there was her car in the traffic lane like a limp 3-legged horse. I ran down there to help and lo and behold what happened? The nut came off the brand new ball joint and it was laying right there on the pavement. I dragged my jack and cordless impact down there, lined it up put it back together for her. I didnt have any cotter pins so I had to bend a bobbypin in the castle nut and wrap it around. That was last month and I got me a new customer(she wants me to charge up her old r-12 system, another opportunity to use r-12a and fix her door window motor problem). My work is good so I dont know why she would go back to the dude who could have possibly killed her had this wheel came off on the highway at 60mph.

Your problem could be the same. Be careful. Go back and tell them right now!
