Default Low speed metallic harmonic

My '05 base Suburban has about 155k on it. U joints have both been replaced within last 18 months.

I'm getting a slight metallic harmonic at low speeds and revs. seems to kick in briefly at about 10 mph and sometimes again at about 18.

I've put it in gear and parking brake on and gone underneath to check the front u-joint by hand. Doesn't seem to have any play.

I'm about 1300 mi from home right now, and would hope to have a little comfort for the return trip.

Any ideas?

Thanks

I'm thinking deathwish. Do not trust the parking brake to hold while in gear.

Wheel bearings?

Thanks for the insight.

Possible. I had one go out on my '99 (Mechanically the absolute worst vehicle I ever owned). Don't have a set of electronic 'ears' to be able to listen to it.

Do you think that would cause the harmonic in two bands? Or would that just be the progression of the disease?

Thanks for the insights.

Yeah, I thought about that as I was falling asleep last night. It was stupid.

Same question...do you think that the wheel bearings would cause the harmonic in two bands? Seems to be the same pitch. I'd expect it to be higher in the second, higher-speed band.

Possibly. Only have experience for one wheel bearing failure, right rear on my '68 GTO towards the end of a 600 mi trip to Denver. It was sort of a rumbling sound.
