Default maint. on my 99 tahoe

so ive been changing out every piece i can under the hood, spark plugs, wireset, rotor/cap, water pump, fan clutch, belt, therm, alternator, rad. cap, oil cap, engine temp sensor and switch, Egr valve, IAC valve, TPS sensor, fuel filter, air filter every fuse in my ho, she runs so beautiful now no jumps, jerks or jolts in idle, strong kick into your seat wen you hit the gas now, shes turned into a monster... i do have an exhuast leak i am getting fixed next week, but if anyone knows maint. sensors or valves that should get changed throw it out here, i appreciate it!

the parts for the tahoe LT 4x4 are so cheap i feel like the engine has gained its life back, the tranny shifts so smooth and strong.. it has 160k on it i need to do diff fluids, and tranny fluid left

i have every bulb turned to LEDs, the dash is blue along with the air control ***** are blue

throw anything out here if you think or know about on the tahoes... as this is my first SUV so i popped my cherry

I definitely agree on the drive Fluids, specially the Transfer Case.

Many of those who get 4x4 often times don't use it very much, and put it in Lo even less frequently. That lack of use often times allows the Case to become shellacked up, and contrary about shifting. I use my 4-Hi often enough, but given the respective gear reduction, hardly need any 4-Lo.

About once a month I electively use 4-Lo for a couple miles, just to keep the Case stirred up.

i use 4 hi a couple times a month, activates and changes perfect no loud clinking or trouble there, but i will have to get into the fluid change for that also, i like to know and trust my behicles and know wats in them, thats why i changed so many parts already, good info, thanks

i never use 4 lo, i usually push it and listen for the switch from 2wd then go right into 4hi on sand, beach, mud, bad roads ect

Newt,
4-Hi and 4-Lo are two different animals !
Though they seem theoretically to be "connected" they really aren't.
Using the 4-Hi is a separate function.

To maintain the reliability of transferring into Lo when you need it, largely depends on it's occasional use as I stated. Try to take time now and then, to put it into Lo and drive it for a while. It will really make a transfer when you do need it, a LOT easier.

Let me try to "sorta" explain why it works the way it does...
When you shift/button into 4-Hi, you're just engaging the Front Axel in combination with the Rear, which is already engaged.
Its GM which "forces" you to engage the Front when you go into Lo Range. (electronically)
The reason for that is, that "theoretically" you have increased the engine horse power to about 750 HP !
If the Front Drive wasn't "helping" pull while in Lo, you eventually might rip the rear end components apart it's so powerful.

PS:
Your Transfer Case uses special Fluid, that being Auto Trak II (about 2 Qts)
PPS:
Understand, that you don't actually increase the Engine HP, but the gear reduction of the Transfer Case, makes the applied power the equivalent to 750 HP. Personally, I REALLY like this, it makes me feel really good, knowing I have that kind of power available.
I call it the "Tree Climbing Mode".
