MP3 Jack on 07 Tahoe GM Radio
Has anyone used this feature yet? What cord (GM Part # ?)did you need to connect your MP3 player to the radio. Were you able to record off of the radio / XM Radio? TIA.
i bought a cord from wal-mart. don't know part number right off but i have seen it online. it looks like a cord with a headphone plug onboth ends. very inexpensive, like 5 bucks. i don't think you can record off radio though. as soon as you plug it in the radio goes off and goes to whatever you plugged in (mp3 player). hope i helped.
I think you can recordIf you wanted to, you can record XM, FM, CD, DVD audio, really anything you want if you use the rear audio controls. If your recording device has a 3.5 mm plug at one end, you could select the audio you want from the rear, plug in the wire to one of the jacks, turn the volume control on that head phone jack about half way or so, then you would have audio going to your recording device. I know some MP3 players have a inline recording jack. For example, lets say you want to record XM, select XM in the rear, connect the wirethe rear audio controls and the input jack of the mp3 player, and hit record on your mp3 player, if you have one that can do it.

I bought a monster cable from target, it was like 20 bux but it is a 7 foot cable, so I dropped it behind the console and ran it underneath it and brought it back up through the center console, this way it is hidden. It worked out really well, and the monster cable sounds really good with my ipod. I think there is also a way to hard wire the aux. plug inside your center console as well.
