Default My Suburban won't drive in two-wheel drive but drive okay in 4-wheel drive

I have a 2001 Chevy Suburban one day I was driving it and noticed when I turn it was making a popping sound so I pulled over cut off to check my front end work so when I started the truck back up I noticed that it was in 4-wheel drive so I put it back in 2 wheel drive and the car wouldn't drive but when I put it in 4-wheel drive the truck drove just fine anybody know what's going on with it please help

I had the same issue, more than likely the actuator in the transfer case is shot. At least that what was wrong with mine.

You can pull the shift motor and with a crescent wrench shift into neutral, 2wd. Make sure you chock the wheels!

okay so I lifted the car up off the ground put it on jack stands and I put the car in gear and two wheel drive the back tires did not spend at all so I put it in neutral shift into 4 wheel drive and the front wheel spent but the back did not spend the driveshaft was the only thing that would spend on the rear end any idea

Sounds like the ring and pinion gears are shot.
