Default Navigation error 2007

I have issues with the "mark" address not agreeing with the actual address. My office "actual address" put me north of a major intersection, when the correct location is south of it. I have a new LTZ, and I am in NY....is there any info regarding this error or correction?

I believe you get 2 free upgrades of the Nav CD. I read it on another forum. Somebody please step in and confirm this cause I wouldn't know where to find it again.

You do get 2 free disc upgrades. I don't think this has anything to do with the nav unit reading or marking the wrong address. I just don't think this unit is as precise as say a Garmin. I had a Garmin in my '01 Tahoe and gave it to my son when I got the '07 LTZ with the Nav. I have hit mark at my office and it seems to be off a little, not very much. I can live with it being off 3 or 4 meters. I am in the ballpark at that range. As long as it tells me where to go and when to turn and I find my destination, it's cool. I am not looking for treasures with the Nav unit.

The link for upgrades is :
https://www.gmnavdisc.com/owner-vin.do

I tried to enter my vin# but I got an error message saying my vin was invalid. My Tahoe LTZ was built in October 06.

3 or 4 meters would be fine as an error, but I seem to be off by several buildings.

if its off consistantly you may need to have it recalibrated, something the dealer would need to do.

According to an earlier post by Dave zx...the dealer cannot recalibrate the unit.
Dave...anything to add to this discussion?

There are a couple of issues that are being addressed regarding the lack of pinpoint accuracy with the Denso Nav units the first being that the units are not WAAS capable so they are accurate to within about 40ft on a good day.
The second is the map overlay within certain areas is more accurate then in other areas, if you happen to be in an area were the mapping is less then precise you just have to wait until the new map DVD's are released and hopefully they will provide the updated info within your area of operation. In time this will all be worked through.

Dave:
Thanks for your response. I find that the actual curser position is on the money, however, the "mark" info is inaccurate by more than 40 feet.

That is due to mapping overlay inaccuracy on the DVD, get your update disc ordered.

Thanks Dave! I had to call the Nav Disc Center, they were very helpful. They confirmed exactly what you said. The update disc is out of stock with no expected delivery date, but they will ship it no charge when it comes in.
