Default navigation help

Hey folks. Great forum. I need your help. I have a 2007 Tahoe LTZ with nav. It seems that my navigation never wants me to drive on a major (or minor) interstate. No matter what my destination is, the system routes me away from all interstates. For instance, I am driving between Nashville, TN and Memphis and simply put in Memphis as the destination and with all choices or routes (whether it be fastest, shortest, or other) it has me exit and take side roads to get there. It does this with all destinations no matter where I am. The dealer is not sure what to do and Onstar was of no help. Any advice? Is it something I am doing?
Thanks in advance
BH

I've only used my navigation twice and it tried the same thing with me. I'm quite interested in the replies

I noticed the same thing playing around with my NAV the other day. I happen to be in Maryland and selected a destination in Detroit. This is a shortest route distance via interstates of around 550 miles; well, the NAV had me going from MD to MI via Canada for a total of over 1000 miles, no matter what reroute option I tried all choices were still wacky.

I admit that I have yet toresearch this inthe manual, but the logic in the routing software obviously leaves something to be desired!

The system will default "Toll Roads" OFF under Route Preferences.
Go into your nav menu under "Route Preference" and make sure that "Toll Roads" is set to "On" and the "Off Road Mode" is set to "Off".

Also make sure that you are using the latest mapping software V2.0

Yup, that did it. I turned on all 4 options (Toll roads, seasonal, etc.) & the NAV now picks the correct routes.

......at least I admitted that I did not research in the manual!

Alright fine, I admit it. I didn't look either but it's nicer to talk with you guys than trek outside in the cold and go thru the manual. Happy now.

Thanks ZX...another problem solved

I have to say that I have not done it yet but that certainly sounds like it is the ticket.
By the way, what "manual" do you guys keep talking about? Just kidding.
